COMMITTEE CHAIR ADMINISTRATIVE WORK:

● Built Civic & Community Engagement committee from the ground up, connecting with 35+ relevant groups to gauge needs, interests, and potential projects
● More than doubled the UA opt-in listserv within a month of becoming Communications Director

PROJECT WORK:

● Played a lead role in securing QuestBridge, a low-income student recruitment program, to partner with Penn
● Improved high rise elevator response times by gathering hundreds of petition signatures when administration was unresponsive
● Started and oversaw the initiative for Penn to be the first Ivy to translate financial aid materials into Spanish
● Heavily involved in organizing College Day, where middle school students come to Penn to experience a typical college day
● Enfranchised transfer students to vote and run for student government their first semester at Penn through the referendum
● Headed Freshman FAQ awareness initiative knocking on 90+% of Freshman rooms after NSO two years ago
● Bolstered Civic House, Netter Center, and Fox Leadership’s mentions within Admissions’ official tours
● Headed UA efforts to address casinos in Philadelphia, resulting in a well-attended non-partisan panel, as well as two internship positions for Penn students
● Initiated program with Dining to formally allow students to donate leftover Dining Dollars
● Started pilot program for sustainable bathroom chemicals and paper products
● Assisted in improving partry containers that ABP uses to donate to Hillel’s UCHC soup kitchen
● Shifted Hillel Dining to eliminate standard use of disposable silverware
● Piloted an online community of RA’s and GA’s to share ideas
● Helped oversee the creation of the first official NSO service-based proseminar, with more to come in 2010
● Organized 2009 Housing 101 Information Sessions with Housing
● Assisted in shaping ISO to provide more free time and more shuttle services to places like Ikea
